Your support is crucial to our mission of assisting widows, orphans, and the underprivileged. To express our gratitude and to encourage generous contributions, we’ve outlined the tax benefits associated with donating to WCF, a recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization under the United States Internal Revenue Code. Please review the following terms and conditions related to your donation:
1. Tax-Deductible Donations
All donations made to WCF are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. The amount of donation that is deductible for federal income tax purposes is limited to the excess of any money contributed by the donor over the value of goods or services provided by the organization.
2. Receipts for Donations
For any donation made, WCF will provide a receipt via email or physical mail (per the donor’s preference), which will include the necessary details for tax deduction purposes. Please ensure to provide your accurate email or mailing address to receive your receipt.
3. Acknowledgement of Donations
Donations of $250 or more will receive a written acknowledgment from WCF, as required by the IRS for the donor to claim a tax deduction. This acknowledgment will detail the amount of the cash donation, or a description of any property donated, and whether WCF provided any goods or services in exchange for the donation.
4. Year-End Contributions
Donations must be received by December 31st of the current tax year to be eligible for a tax deduction in that same year. Donations received after this date will be deductible in the next tax year.
5. Non-Cash Donations
If you donate property other than cash (such as securities, real estate, or tangible personal property), the value of the tax deduction will be based on the fair market value of the property at the time of the donation. It is the donor’s responsibility to determine the value of the donation or seek professional appraisal when necessary.
6. Restrictions and Limitations
Certain contributions, including those made to specific individuals, personal benefit contracts, or donations without proper substantiation, may not be eligible for tax deductions. It is the donor’s responsibility to consult with a tax advisor to ensure compliance with current tax laws and regulations.
7. Use of Donated Funds
WCF commits to using donated funds responsibly and in alignment with our mission. Donations will be used to support our programs and beneficiaries as effectively as possible.
